There seem to be these boils almost on my peperomia and I can’t tell if they are a disease or just normal for this plant. I’m so curious and I haven’t seen anything like this before. Thanks🤍🪴

Looks like oedema/edema to me. Had the same plant and it arrived with it. Has it been moved to somewhere colder or drier lately? It can be caused when there’s a change in the temperature. The current season, for example, could be a cause if the plant is near a draft or air vent. Sometimes aerating the soil helps too. I definitely recommend researching edema and how to remedy it, but for the time being, do not remove any of the affected leaves, or it’ll just move up to the still healthy leaves until the edema is taken care of. Hope this helps.

Thanks. I have had it for a whole year and it developed it about a month after. Is it dangerous to the plants health or more of a look disease that doesn’t seriously effect the plant. It’s lived with it for a while with it but it doesn’t seem to harm the plant.

It’ll keep affecting the leaves of the plant if left untreated, but no, it’s not a disease and won’t spread to other plants. You don’t need to quarantine it, but you might want to move it somewhere with more humidity and no risk of drafts or vents.

Ok. Thanks. How much light would u say it needs? Does it prefer indirect light or direct light?

I kept mine in a north window in the summer, but moved all my Peperomia under grow lights to keep them from getting too cold in the windowsills this winter. If you’ve got an east or west facing window and don’t have drafty windows or air vents above or under it, that should work just fine. My best guess if the edema is recent is that the winter weather is affecting it, and it might just need a spot with more humidity and less risk of getting cold or being near forced hot air.

thank you! 😊 if you’re talking about the lilies, though, I can’t take credit. Those are the default photos for them. I just planted them this summer so I have to wait until spring for them to bloom. If you’re referring to Audrey, though, thank you. She seems to really like blooming in the fall and winter, surprisingly. I just scrolled through your collection and they’re all really cute. Definitely envying your goldfish plant. That one’s been on my wishlist for a while. ⭐️
