My monstera was overwatered. I'm still new at this. I repotted it with fresh, dry potting soil (fertilized), mixing in just a bit of the overly moist (overwatered) soil to balance out moisture and keep the environment somewhat familiar. Is there anything else I need to do? I want this beautiful plant to live! All assistance is welcome. I'm a novice.

when you repotted it did you check for root rot from being overwatered? If you didnt I would Leave it alone UNLESS the Leaves rooting/Yellowing continues or gets worse! if you did check the roots and they are fine now/you Cut the root rot off it just in shock and to leave it alone and do its thing give it some time!

If the foliage continues to do what it Is in the pictures i would check the roots asap and Look for any mushy/Black soft roots and cut them off right above where the Root rot ends! if you dont it will continue to Kill off the foliage unfortunately!

Thanks. I did look, but I honestly wasn't exactly sure what I was looking for. The potting soil was very dark, so the roots all looked dark to me.

Dumb question: will these leaves come back/regrow to healthy leaves, or do they need to be removed?

You could totally put them (roots) in the sink/tub to clear off the roots too see them! you can also feel root rot! Anything that is soft/mushy is a good sign of root rot! And sometimes (not always) you can smell it Which then means its pretty bad then. You’ll know when You have server root rot! Its terrible

Its not a dumb question! But Unfortunately if they fall off/Have significant damage from possible root rot You’ll have to cut it off because it will not heal and Go away! The ones that are dropping Should perk back up alright tho! dropping leaves Is just showing their either thirsty, a problem or In shock! And i Looked up some Pictures on google to possibly help you See root rot on a monstera that had soil on it still!
