I have a variegated string of pearls that was doing good but I repotted her and may have over watered her at some point but she looks a little sad compared to what she was. 🫣 any tips to bring her back to her former glory? 😭

Can you describe what you are seeing that is concerning you? For example, are they more deflated, not growing, etc? If it helps, it doesn’t look too bad to me.❤️

Whoops I forgot to actually mention the problem 😂 So a 1/4 of it died off and there were a few pearls that died off looking deflated and mushed and there were just whole vines that dried up and I trimmed them off. The first and second photos on the oh post are a month apart.

That is the cutest pot EVER!! I’m not sure but maybe the repotting just gave her a little shock and needs time to adjust to the new soil?

That’s what I thought too but when I first brought her home over 6 months ago she was thriving and growing more pearls, even after the original repot to check roots and change soil. :/ Also pot was from Amazon 🤣

Ok, gotcha! So string of pearls are a succulent so they need a well draining soil like a cactus/succulent soil. What kind of soil are you using? How long were the roots when you repotted it recently? And did you go bigger, smaller, or stay the same on the new pot size? Sorry so many questions, trying to narrow down the culprit.😅 Also, I see it says they are 5 ft. from the window and no grow light? Is this still accurate? They like a lot of sun is why I’m asking. Can you think of any other changes other than new pot? Different location maybe? Lastly, how do you determine when to water them? Planta, dry soil, the way the leaves look, or a certain number of days?

Let’s see, I have a home made chunky soil mix that I use as a general potting mix. It drains really well and didn’t have issues with it for my succulent garden and string of hearts. Roots looked normal nice few inches root ball. the pot stayed the same size but I redid the soil as I mentioned before I overwatered her on accident and wanted to get it it out of the really wet soil. The location is still accurate it lives in my desk near a window that gets plenty of sunlight. I feel I was being too generous with how far it is from the window. Lol I don’t think I’ve really given it a drink of water since I repotted the last time. Planta usually recommends when to do it but I’ve skipped it last time. I usually wait till the pearls doesn’t look as plump but I’m also misting it every other day or so.

Just wanted you to know I haven’t forgotten about you. Just haven’t had a chance to respond since yesterday was mother’s day and today is my anniversary. I should be able to get back with you tomorrow.😊
