Hello everyone, I hope you are all having a wonderful day! My day has just gotten a bit better a friend who said she is killing her for leaf has gifted it to me. I'm hoping I can get your advice on the problem with it and how to take care of it. I've always been a little shy at getting a fiddle leaf. I hear there a little finicky. This one has dry edges on a number of the leaves. It has been losing leaves. She has recently repotted it in what looks like a very Spagna Moss type dirt. I would like to repot it into something chunkier and better draining. Should I do it right away? And what do you think the problem is as far as the leaves? I appreciate any advice and help. TIA.😊

Super Finicky drama life filled plant. Hate drafts, hate to be moved from spot to spot, hates overwatering, needs leaves free from dust, bright indirect light, needs a humidifier or pebble tray.. could benefit a self watering pot. I wish you good luck in saving it and keeping it in the right sweet spot. I had two that finally kept torturing my anxiety so they ended up in the dumpster 😏 hope this helps…good luck

Looks like it got too much sun ! Those could be sunburned marks on the leafs the mushy looking ones those just look overwatered ! I would chop off the mushy looking ones but the sunburned ones you can keep ! Also check for root rot !

It looks like there’s different types of substrate in the pot and the one by the roots looks compacted. I would try to remove all the soil and find the right mix for flf’s and go from there. You wanna make sure you have healthy soil for healthy roots.

I bet there’s tons of YouTube videos on how to care for them, I’d do my research there
