Hi, can someone tell me please, are these dreaded Thrips on my Flamingo Lily? 😱

    This a less of a close up and I'm assuming by the damage on the leaves it probably is thrips but need someone else to confirm as this my first experience with them.

    Thank you Emmyy, I've just run the whole plant under a tap whilst rubbing the leaves and stems, then soaked the whole pot in water to hopefully drown anything in the soil. I've sprayed the whole plant and soil with Thrip spray just in case it was that, I've removed the most damaged leaves in case there are eggs in them as I believe thats what Thrips do. She's now in quarantine away from all my other plants 🤞

    If you need, beneficial insects worked really well for me! Saved having to apply reapply all the sprays etc. good luck!

      I've thought about that before but I'm unsure, I get a bit creeped out by any kind of creepy crawly really. But I would rather a more natural way of eliminating the harmful pests, so this is probably the best way to go. Any recommendations would be great please?

      I used DMV beneficials. I also was like eeeek more bugs but honestly the whole process was so worth it. The company is excellent with customer service and helping you walk through options. The beneficials come and you just put them on and leave them. After doing the whole systematic granules plus neem etc and not being sure it would work, this was a lifesaver!

      They tough to rid of. I use benificial bugs but not everyone can get a hold of them. Hope they haven’t gotten to all your plants.

    Don’t be creeped out. I was the same. But then they become ur friends and happy u don’t have thrips anymore.

    I've just read about Minute Pirate bugs which are supposed to be good for getting rid of thrips but they can give a sharp painful bite to humans, not keen on that idea. I'll have a look more into beneficial bugs and see what else there is. Thank you all for your help.
