Bonide systemic granules So I use these granules to keep away pests and it works great. Here’s the issue: I just recently found out about the carcinogens and cancer risk. I have horrible medical anxiety and am now worried that I’m a goner from using these. Please help, any advice is welcomed (as long as you’re kind)
I understand your concern. From what I know it is caused by inhaling the dust for a prolonged period of time. If you want to continue to use the product, I'd recommend using the product outside and bring it back in after the dusts are gone. If you're having anxieties just by having the pots with the product in, I would recommend changing the granules to some other organic product, because having so much anxiety over a plant is not worth it and the worries (let alone the carcicogens) is not healthy for you!
2 Me gustawhile I didn’t know about these in specific a lot of chemicals COULD technically cause cancer, and manufacturers put warnings on them so people are extra motivated to use them as directed. But in general, I think you should be fine if you’re not huffing lines of ‘em. That said, I agree that if taking them outside until the dust disperses doesn’t make you feel better, you should swap to something that causes less stress. It’s not worth panicking yourself over.

Exactly what everyone else is saying for sure. I totally get it though as I have bad medical anxiety too, but I’d also recommend wearing an N95 or similar mask, gloves and even a pair of goggles if you’re wanting to still is the granules outside and watering the particles down helps with the dust too
