Hello, I think someone moved my corn plant near a window that filtered cold air. Can I save this plant? I am heartbroken. Thanks!

I do water with city water, but what is interesting is that I have 2 identical plants. Both of them watered with the same water and the twin is doing great.

I do think some plants don’t like the city water. I might change this one to get distilled water.

How much do you let it dry out in between waterings? I’d cut off the worst leaves, let it dry 100% in between waterings, and give it lots of bright indirect light. Right in an east facing window would be ideal. A west or south facing window can also work if you keep it a few feet back or add a sheer window curtain. If you see more leaves continue to yellow and brown even though you’re letting it dry out completely before watering, it might have some sort of fungal issue like root rot. If it is root rot, that’s treatable but will require you to repot it in order to treat the roots. If you’re worried about cold air from a window, you could buy some alien draft seal or just use clear packaging tape to seal off the window a little more. Based on the way the leaves are yellowing and browning all over, I’m inclined to think it’s overwatering instead of the cold draft, but that will still help!

I can cut the leaves and let it dry and see what it does.
