I need help! I’m not sure what’s going on with my Monstera Thai Con. This is now my second leaf that gets like that. The first time I just cut it off because it wasn’t aesthetically pleasing lol but this time I’m not sure why it’s happening again and it’s a lot more soggy/soft in the black/dark parts feel the only pests I’m currently dealing with are fungus gnats & roots still look very healthy.

This looks kinda like edema from over watering. There's could be something else going on too to cause the black color

Thanks I figured it probably had to do with some overwatering. Ever since the fungus gnats came around I’ve been spraying them down a bit more often with some mosquito bits water & she’s been staying wet a bit longer than she’s used to since I had to repot recently. So my fungus gnats decreased but my plants are a bit more stressed especially this baby which i usually let her be.

Gotcha, yea pull back on the mosquito bits, it's a bacteria, that will grow in soil. So no need to overwater. Just use it every time you're supposed to water, if that's the treatment you use. The black makes a bit more sense now since you're using Bti

Thanks, I’ll look into that since I’m a newbie with monsteras. I usually just let them be & hope for the best lol

If it’s happening in the white parts (which is very common) try supplementing with silica. It often will help the highly variegated plants. Available at Amazon.

It started off in the white parts then began to spread. I’ll be investing in that since I do have a few other variegated babies as well
