Plant Mama Mads

Hi plant people! Can anyone tell me what’s going on with my pothos? It’s about two years old now and the new growth seems to be doing fine but there’s occasionally yellowing leaves near the top existing older ones and brown spots. I should add I’ve recently put it on a more regular watering schedule and put it outside for the warmer months. It’s on a west facing porch that has a roof and receives plenty of direct sunlight. My only thought is maybe heat or sunburn? It has consistently been in the upper 80’s and 90’s where I live.

I agree that direct sunlight is not good for pothos. Check the roots by pulling off the pot. That’s a lot of growth in just two years. It could be root bound. It may need repotting if you have more roots than soil. I assume you fertilize it to get so much growth. Check the amount and frequency of fertilizing. Once a month at full strength is the right amount in warm months. Too much can cause burn and yellowing. 🍀🪴

Thank you for your advice! I appreciate the help! I’m thinking it’s definitely the direct sun because I’ve only fertilized it once since owning it. I’m going to try moving it to a different less sunny spot. 😊
