Hello, could someone please advise me on what to do with my overwatered pickle plant. I hardly ever water it and have stuck very strictly to Planta's watering schedule, so I have no idea how this has happened? I have no idea how I can manage some very notoriously difficult plants absolutely fine, and the easy ones are the bane of my existence! Thank you. :(

Try not to follow the app’s watering schedule too literally — use it as a reminder to check in on your plant instead. Give the soil a quick moisture check before watering. It feels squishy because it’s been a bit overwatered and the soil has compacted. I’d gently take it out of the pot to peek at the roots and make sure there’s no rot starting. 💚🌿

Thank you, because of the type of soil it was in when I got Squishy (which it is still in now) it is really hard to tell. But as I mentioned, I water Squishy less than every month. I do not get it. Give me dynamic equilibrium questions, easy as 'pi', plants some times- I have no idea...

Also, succulents are HARD! 😅 I’ve struggled more with them than any of my other plants

I do not get it- I was always told they are easier than phalaenopsis orchids, yet mine is having three, maybe four keikis!

For reference, this is Squishy on the same day I got it.

@Ophelia, succulents can be tricky. Getting it just right is what you can do, as mentioned above the app is just a guide always check your soil. That being said, I get you. I’m a “SSK”, “succulent serial killer” I have a few but give me a plant that I can love but not love to death. 🙃🤣

If you are a 'SSK' (love the name), any advice on helping Squishy with the overwatering? Thank you! :)

Ophelia, change the soil. Soak the roots in hydrogen peroxide diluted w/water(1:3). And water only when the soil is dry. Not according to the app but according to your finger test or soil meter.

Thank you so much. I had to go by Planta as the soil I got Squishy in was this weird, stuck together 'lump' where I now understand the water was absorbed and held. I could not feel that it was too wet. Thank you!!
