Does anyone know what’s wrong with my African violet?
I tried zooming and can’t really see the plant clearly. If you could update with clearer photos, that would help. It looks like there’s spots or lesions which I would believe to be either an infection or a sunburn. The leaves toward the middle don’t seem too damaged, but it is spreading, which makes me think it’s infected. The plants base is still pumping out new growth and looks healthy, so I doubt overwatering is to blame. I hope this helps.
0 likesCould it be from the cold? It was standing on my window sill and daily temps are 30F-50F
0 likesIt also stood under a grow light for a bit and after I relocated it this started happening, so maybe it’s delayed damage?
0 likesYes it likely could be from the cold
0 likestoo much sun would show up as leaves turning yellow or lightening in color. Sunburn is possible but typically AFs tend to be dramatic and show it all. I bet you’re right and the cold temp got to it. Do you notice it more on one side (possible the side closer to the window)?
0 likesGlad to help! Also, If you’ve had the plant a while, consider a repot this spring! New soil could help it thrive, but it looks like you’re already doing a great job. If you want a fun experiment, take one of the busted looking leaves and snip it off close to the base of the plant- stick that sucker in water and it will root, it’s really fun to watch! Happy planting 🥰
