Howdy! In attempts to be proactive…does anyone have any suggestions on why my leaves are growing smaller, drooping, browning, and potentially stretching? I’ve played around with lighting this past month which has led to the browning, but the drooping was already happening. Two small leaves came out about a month ago. Any tips or suggestions to help this cutie thrive is greatly appreciated!

So helpful! I’ve been questioning if I should repot or not. Thank you!

Smaller leaves tend to mean lower light levels. Plants try to conserve energy whilst they try to get more light by producing smaller leaves. Monsteras also need support from a moss pole to appear more upright as they are climbers. Might be worth repotting and intruding something it can latch on to with aerial roots.

Thank you!!! I was considering getting a trellis, have you had experiences with pairing that with a Monstera? Also, from your experience what lighting has been most successful for your Monstera? Distance from window, East vs West Sun etc.

I’d definitely get a pole for it to climb with some plant Velcro. Pot it up in a tropical mix. Mine loves Molly’s Tropical mix. It’s nice and chunky and soiless, so no fungus gnats. Mine sits in a stand by the window. They can tolerate medium light, mine took off when I put it close to the window. Good luck! O

What other plants do you use this mix for…asking for the rest of my plants 🤣

All my plants, pothos, Alocasia, philodendron. Anything that needs well draining soil. I mix in a bit of soiless mix that isn’t so chunky for my begonia and Marantas so they don’t dry out to quickly. I transitioned them all as I repot them. It’s a bit expensive but well worth it. I can’t handle bugs so it’s worth it to me to buy this soil. When I repotted my alocasia’s in this I had new growth sprout up within the first week. Love, love love it! I heard about it from WildFern on YouTube. Check out her channel, you’ll learn a lot about climbing plants. I’m actually watching as I type Ahahahahaha. Her blog channel is CozyPlantLady.

I have this happening to my monstera Deliciosa. Come to find out, I have flat mites. I’m waiting for my dead bug brew to be delivered. Ugh.
