took this last night does she look healthy? I’m concerned about the leaves they seem to be drooping…it was time for her weekly watering Thursday so maybe she’s just bouncing back from being thirsty? She’s also splitting in the middle of the leaves and been seeing little black dots so I started using a neem oil solution too…am I just being dramatic?

You have a beautiful BOP there! I can’t see anything wrong with it from the photos. The bigger leaves tend to bend a bit anyway due to their size and weight. I can’t speak for the black dots without a better image of them. They could be anything but it’s wise to assume pests and treat accordingly, just in case. Do you think the dots themselves might have been pests, or was it possibly frass (essentially dark green/black looking liquid excreted by certain pests, such as thrips)? If in doubt, you can do some simple things, like dipping the leaves in water, or spraying the plant with water to wash away any pests. Water is especially hostile to thrips and could help flush away any pests before they take hold. Even better if you put a little Castile or potassium soap in the water/spray (or dish soap in a pinch, as long as you don’t do it too often). I would keep a close eye on your BOP - inspect every day for signs of pests for a month or so, until you’re confident there’s nothing there. Prevention is far better than cure and any time invested now can save you a lot of time and effort in the long run :)

Hi there :) It looks like that damaged leaf is an older one? Your newer leaves look healthy from what I can see in the pic. I can’t be sure but that sort of damage may be from under watering, low humidity, sunburn or exposure to hot air or cold drafts. Split leaves are normal with BOPs over time but as it’s happening with new, unfolding leaves, that could also point to low humidity and/or underwatering or possibly mechanical damage. When the plant is growing (spring-autumn), only water when the top 3cm or so of the pot is dry. You want the soil to be moist but not waterlogged. In the winter when it’s not growing, let it dry out more before watering, but don’t let it dry out completely. If you have low humidity, then a humidifier is really the only decent solution, other than grouping it closely with lots of other plants. I use a Govee smart humidifier lite, which is relatively affordable and does a great job. Keep it away from any cold drafty areas and make sure it’s not next to any heat sources. I’d be tempted to cut off that damaged older leaf so your BOP can focus its energy on growing its lovely newer leaves. I hope that helps :)
