I have this plant setup in one of my room. I just noticed, I have thrips. The infested plants were placed where the red dots are, but have now been treat (hose down and insecticidal soap) and are isolated away from the others. I’m also going to hang some yellow sticky traps. I’ve looked at the rest of the plants and haven’t noticed any thrips on them. But….my in-laws are visiting in a couple weeks and I really want get rid of the thrips as quickly/easily as possible. My question: should I treat them all or only if I see thrips on the other plants? Also, am I safe in assuming thrips aren’t really an issue for my carnivorous plants? TIA!

Thrips are very persistent, I would proactively be treating those others on the shelf.

I recently had them and they made their way through a whole room 😔 I would treat it all.

Treat them all for sure. Captain jacks dead bug spray is highly recommended in this group! You’ll more than likely want to treat a few time bc the eggs are in the leaves/stem etc.

Unfortunately they are pests to everyone so treat the carnivorous plants too.

I would treat the whole shelf. Otherwise later you may 👀 some and have to do the whole thing again

DO NOT use insecticidal soap on carnivorous plants. Trips are definitely sneaky and like to hide in leaf axles and flower petals but not all plants are attractive to thrips. I think your aloe and your sense of area are probably safe but to protect your other plants I would treat them with a systemic containing imidacloprid. This will get into all those little hiding places. Thrips are attracted to yellow and light colored flowers and leaves so if you have any of those pay them special attention.

Permethrins and neem oil can also work but they are contact killers so they will not get into all the little hiding places.

I’ve read that you should use blue sticky traps for thrips
