Hi friends! I have a Zamioculas Zamiifolia and it just seems really unhappy. Leaves have been falling off like crazy. Originally I think it’s because I wasn’t letting her soak up water over night, but I adjusted the watering method and she’s still losing a ton of leaves. Any ideas?

They can go a bit of time without water they have rhizomes (kinda shaped like a potato the roots grow out of) they hold a lot of the water the plant absorb

If the soil is still wet/moist when your water then the plant is overwater the soil should be at least 50% to 75% dry before watering

Personally just what works for me I usually only need to water mine every two weeks and less often when it’s colder out

Yes, Plant Intern is right, you do not want to overwater Zz plants, it’ll lead to root rot, I even water mine once a month until the soil is crunchy dry

I water my zz plant every 6-8 weeks. Sometimes even longer in the winter time. 😊

Zz plants don’t mind being neglected. Stick it in a corner let it dry up in partial sun, forget about it and it might end up happier 😂
