The potting mix I made is sprouting little plants and mushrooms. Are these bad? They've only been in 1 pot so far so maybe the plant had spores on its roots from the nursery. The mix is mostly African violet soil mixed with vermiculite and charcoal.

    No, it's common especially if the mix contained top soil. You can just remove them. If you leave them they could spores and produce more. (The mushrooms anyhow)

    Pull the weeds and do what you want with the mushrooms. Mushrooms indicate healthy soil they feed on decomposing matter. They won't hurt the plant.
