   paling in color is almost always low light. nearly all carnivorous plants are full sun plants, that's their primary source of energy, think of the bugs as fertilizer.

   Some pings (especially this species!) are naturally more purple/red. It can easily shift colors depending on lighting. The green was most likely actually a sign of it being in lower light conditions. As long as it is getting ~12 hours direct sun with a bright window or grow light, it should be fine and might even gradually change to almost a completely red color.
