What am I doing wrong?? Recently purchased on Tuesday. I’m hoping it’s thirst I watered her today’s good amount (1 pic is Tuesday 2nd is prior to posting. I removed a few brown leaves. Soil looks questionable so as I tried moving the plant a stems popped out of the soil. Am I doomed ?

I recently got a golden pothos as well and she started wilting just like this. I took her out of the pot and realized she was VERY root bound! Depending on how many vines you have going on it might need to be repotted. I repotted mine from this same container to a 10" ceramic pot (with drainage ofc) and even took a few of her vines out and put them in water. Since then it's been doing great. Maybe she's needing more pot room/more light if it's placed darker. Not doomed!! Pothos are very resilient

She went from looking just like yours to this. I'm no expert but I thought she was fine in her pot, but I was wrong 😂

I swear I can put a plant near my window with indirect sunlight and it’ll wilt

So as I was checking her out a few stems easily came out. Idk if that’s because of the soil or it was just thrown together prior to purchase. The soil on top looked a little suspicious but again I didn’t want open up a can of worms and the entire plant fall apart lol

If they over buried the nodes, it could have caused some rotting

It was looking alive prior to coming home with me

I just had something similar with a vanilla plant i bought. The seller repotted before sending it, and he covered up 2 leave sections. And they started to yellow and rot. So i unpotted it, removed the bad leaves, and repotted so none of the leaf nodes were covered.

    What light is it getting?

It gets decent light being in my living room but it’s also still cold out where I’m living (northeast US)

I bought a plant from a lady on LetGo once and I got it home and found it was just a pot with unrooted cuttings stuffed down in the dirt. Some people are unscrupulous.

Were you able to save any?

I put them in water and a couple of them sprouted roots. It was a golden pothos.

Maybe I try that. I’m gonna take the ones with roots and put them in a smaller pot
