    Perhaps overwatering?

Overwatering happens when you water too frequently and can cause fungal issues with the root system which will eventually kill the plant. Snake plants are super drought tolerant, so they like for their soil to dry out completely before watering again. I use a toothpick or moisture meter to check that the soil is 100% dry, then soak the soil thoroughly, then don’t water again until it’s 100% dry.

Watering too much or too often... does the pot have drainage?

The app is helpful for generally keeping track of when to water, but the downside of this app is that it doesn’t do a good enough job of specifying that you should check the soil moisture first. When Planta says it’s time to water, check that the soil is completely dry first. If the soil has any moisture left at all, hit the “snooze for 2 days” button until you know the soil is completely dry. I got a $10 moisture meter off amazon that works great, but you can also check using a toothpick chopstick (as though you were checking on a cake that’s baking).

Ok thanks, I bought one on Amazon too, I’ll use it more.
