Perhaps overwatering?
1 likeWhatâs that ?
0 likesOverwatering happens when you water too frequently and can cause fungal issues with the root system which will eventually kill the plant. Snake plants are super drought tolerant, so they like for their soil to dry out completely before watering again. I use a toothpick or moisture meter to check that the soil is 100% dry, then soak the soil thoroughly, then donât water again until itâs 100% dry.
0 likesWatering too much or too often... does the pot have drainage?
1 likeYes the pot has drainage I add water when this application says
0 likesThe app is helpful for generally keeping track of when to water, but the downside of this app is that it doesnât do a good enough job of specifying that you should check the soil moisture first. When Planta says itâs time to water, check that the soil is completely dry first. If the soil has any moisture left at all, hit the âsnooze for 2 daysâ button until you know the soil is completely dry. I got a $10 moisture meter off amazon that works great, but you can also check using a toothpick chopstick (as though you were checking on a cake thatâs baking).
1 likeOk thanks, I bought one on Amazon too, Iâll use it more.
