My Confetti Syngonium has one really thick stem with aerial roots and at the top these leaves are clustered. They have been in this same stage of "opening" since I brought it home about a month ago and some even have damage on them. I dont see any signs of pests and all my plants have recently or are currently being treated for fungus gnats and thrips. Any idea what could be causing this? Should I chop it off? It seems this specific plant is having trouble opening any new leaf so what can I do to help it out?

It’s not common for a Syngonium Confetti to remain furled for so long. The plant could be too dry from under watering or the humidity is too low around it making it hard for the plant to unfurl a new leaf. I recommend increasing the humidity with a humidifier or putting the plant in a plant cabinet. An alternative is to cover the plant with a clear plastic cover or plastic bag increase the humidity. A glass cloche would work. Let fresh under the covering every other day.

I want to correct my comment to “…let fresh air get under the bag/covering every day…”. Planta won’t let me modify the comment. 🙃
