Do some googling or try You Tube. Iāve never had a Venus fly trap but I know they can be very difficult and I believe they do not like to be potted in soil. They get all their nutrients from the bugs they eat ⦠so their substrate has to be void of vitamins or minerals or something ā¦. Good luck!!

Cut off all the black. Lots of light. They like to be moist but not drenched. Feed once a month. No fertilizer. Only distilled water
1 LikeIāve been told that Venus fly traps go dormant as well. If itās not dormancy itās prob an old trap. Mine Iāve experienced that with every two new leaves/traps it makes it loses one. Mine is doing amazing other than that. Also donāt feed it live food. It stresses them out. Use a sort of āfertilizerā. There are certain kinds you can buy that co inside the traps mouth. Works better than live food since live bugs can stress the plant out.

0 LikesI bought a fly trap that looks similar to this one. I thought the soil was incredibly dense and holds on to too much moisture. What kind of soil should the plant be in?
0 LikesIt needs a carnivorous plant mixture! Usually peat moss and perlite or something similar
