I've had no pest issues for a long time, then today I found aphids on several of my indoor-only plants. I collected/used rain water earlier this week, and guessing now that's how they came in. Has anyone had this happen? For those of you who collect rain water, best methods to ensure it's free of pests before using? Thanks in advance. 🙂

Never heard of that. Maybe a drop of neem in the container. And wipe off the outside before you bring it in.

I don't know for sure that it's the rain water, just the only source I've come up with so far, since the affected plants have never been outside and aren't especially close to any other plants.

Yea not sure. It's easy to bring pests indoors unfortunately

Winter is the time spider mites and aphids tend to show up on indoor plants. They come in on tools, clothes, shoes, pets’ fur or they just fly/crawl in through a door or other openings. They also come in on delivery packages left outside. I haven’t heard of them coming from rain water except for mosquito larvae.
