Hi everyone! I bought this Calathea Dottie plant about a month ago, and within the first few days of bringing it home it immediately started to curl and wilt. I repotted it into a different pot and thought it might’ve been overwatered. Ever after repotting and being very careful about overwatering, pruning its dead leaves, only using distilled water, and fertilizing it I cannot get her back to life. Please help! I was so excited to have my first Calathea and she is STRUGGLING

It looks like either too much light or water. They like regular water. I water when there is around an inch of dry dirt. No bright lights or sun light. I have up and put mine with my water and carnivorous plants. It loved the lower light and humidity.

Sorry. They also seem to hate really wet dirt, so I feed it the same way as my succulents, with a squeeze bottle. I also must twice a week.

Awesome this is so helpful thank you! I have to keep it outside because I have a cat so hopefully it’s humid enough for it. Do you think repotting it with cactus/succulent soil would help?

No. But maybe trying to find a way to give it shade. Maybe some thicker lace? Hang it on the fencing. Also is the pot and soil very well draining?

I can move it to a shaded spot. And I’m not sure, it’s just regular indoor plant soil which is why I’m thinking I should maybe mix in more perlite or cactus soil! The pot is well draining

    Perlite would be helpful.

In my experience, curling leaves means too much light

Did you harden it to the light? They usually don’t tolerate going to brighter light conditions especially quickly.
