does this hoya have signs of pests?? i’m new to the plant game and this is a facebook rehab,im not sure exactly the sign for scale or what truly is scale vs damage😓

    It’s not pests or scale. It’s a blister in the outer cuticle on the hoya leaves. The cuticle acts as a barrier to hold moisture in the leaves. That is similar to the two bumps that arrived on my Hoya Shepherdii when I got it last fall. One was partially dry and slightly hollow. The other bump is still hard and green. It’s not detrimental to the plant as far as I can see. This is my first Shepardii. I’m very happy with it. Mine came with peduncles, but, the flower buds dried up. My plant got too dry this winter as seen by the curved back leaves with a bit of wrinkles. Wrinkles crack the cuticle covering the leaves. I watered mine today. You can see the two bumps in that photo. The other photo was taken in November when the plant had sufficient moisture and regular watering. The leaves were straight with little curling. Overall, this plant is low maintenance from my few months owning it. That’s one reason I neglected it a bit. It rarely turns yellow and drop leaves. I hope to help it bloom this summer. I recommend you fertilize regularly and water after the soil is completely dry. Give it bright morning light or a grow light. I moved mine back outside today. 🪴🍀

      thank you so much!! i know their plays they came with came with mealies but i cant find one on this guy. The growth they’ve had has been immaculate, i may treat with a pesticide soap to be safe. thank you so much i was worried about those bulbs none of my other hoyas have them and the white coating on all the leaves throws me off!! thank you!!
