My guy is struggling and I feel like it was sudden. He lost his shape and is super soft. How can I heal him or his he gone? 😠it’s a freaking cactus I don’t know how this happened 🤣

PatOnTheBackHey there! This might be an over watering issue or the cactus may have had root rot already at time of purchase. I’ve seen some people recover them by chopping the rot off and adding root powder and then putting it in dirt again but that only works if you have a healthy enough length of cactus to work with. There’s some pretty good YouTube tutorials on how to do it.

I’ve had this guy for almost a year and I watered him today because he’d gone 20 days without water. He was completely dried out before I put water in today! ðŸ˜

Oh that is weird for sure: it might be rot from the roots being bound at the bottom? I would do some investigating to see if it’s just the plant itself or an issue under the dirt. I’ve also seen similar stuff happen with sudden temperature changes in the environment

Yeah… I’m in AZ so we go from cool to hot this time of year. I’ll take him out this week and see what he looks like! Thank you!!
