Help!! My grandparents got me this BEAUTIFUL monstera for Christmas, but it seems to be planted with aerial roots without actual roots.. I’m new to being a plant mom so idk if this will survive? I’d love some insight on if this will work and if not what to do. Thank you in advance!!

You can try to repot it and put the aerial roots in the pot and they should grow into the soil helping your plant. If you get more aerial roots after that and they’re bothering you you can always cut them off and it won’t hurt the plant just make sure your scissors are clean

So often when taking a cutting, which this is, or was originally. There will often be aerial roots. And they are potted up, just like a rooted plant. This can sustain the plant. Usually you bury one side of the cutting so that it starts to grow soil/water based roots as well. If they are just left above ground, this isn't often achieved. You could repot it, so that the bottom cutting is touching the soil, and add a rooting hormone. Or try and adjust the plant and raise the soil level in the pot to do this. Or kind of airlayer that lower area with damp moss to encourage root growth, and then repot. The soil doesn't look super well draining, so I'd personally go with the repot, be it before or after Layering.

This makes me feel better!! Thank you, I’ll burry the stem and change the potting soil :)

It’s fine. Just keep feeding it.

My standard recommendation for this plant is found at lovethatleaf.com, Monstera Thai constellation the ultimate care guide (and how not to kill them). There's also an excellent section on variegated plants. Thai constellation does not have the same care as a green variety of monstera.
