Started to notice a gnat problem in my outdoor garden and my houseplants! I want to get on top of it ASAP. I ordered some sticky traps, but was wondering the best way to kill the larvae? Should I use neem oil? I heard that it works from some websites and that it doesn’t from others.

Mosquito bits/dunks or BTI drops in the water and bottom watering help eliminate gnats

That is such a cute set up and I have a gnat problem too. You can use a captain Jack’s spray. Those are really helped my problem. You just have to be very religious with spraying once a week and bottom watering all your plants.

Hydrogen peroxide 3% diluted to kill larvae. Neem oil too. You need mosquito bits. Put cinnamon on top soil. Your plants are too close together if there is knats it will infest all the plants. Look up you tube videos on how to get rid of knats

If you see any gnats you have to treat as if they all have gnats or they will likely continue to spread.

I have gnats too! 😭 I just made a chunkier potting mix to repot my 30+. Will be a chore to do all of them at the same time but I’ve done everything to get rid of them and no solution so far to the constant damp soil. Figure I’ll lose them to root rot if I don’t fix the soil, might as well go for it! Good luck with your gnats!

I for whatever reason cannot find them near me? Amazon says can’t deliver. I’m hoping repotting and stickies will get rid of them? 🤞🏻

There is another product called Death Drops from Happy Happy Houseplant. It’s supposed to kill off larvae and active gnats

I just used the death drops a little while ago and after one treatment I haven’t found a single gnat! I didn’t have them super badly but one treatment got rid of all of them!

That’s a great review Jenna! Haven’t purchased yet, but I saw a knit this week and thought, “uh, NOT this year suckas!”

You can kill the larvae with nematodes that die off after the larvae is eaten. Watch Sheffield Made Plants on YouTube, he explains how and what kind.
