Hello, I’m very new to the plant community:) I got into plants about a year ago and have a lot to learn! I currently have five plants that all could use some help 😅 -7+ year old 🍃Golden Potho. 🍃I have recently repotted her because she was extremely root bound. She also had vine balding so I took Bobby pins and pint the nodes of the vine to the soil. -🍃1+ y/o Swiss cheese monstera🍃 I repotted her 4m ago and she’s has been giving me 2/3 new leafs every 1-2 weeks. -🍃Neon Potho 🍃 I got this one a month ago from Walmart and changed out the soil. (Help me save her ) -🍃4/5 + y/o Snake Plant🐍 🍃 I changed her soil a week ago.(((( I would add a photo but my post would only allow 4 and I’m not worried about her )))))) - 🍃Monstera🍃 i got her a week ago from Walmart, she had browning on her leafs and some yellow on her stems. She’s the one I’m most worried about and the least knowledgeable about. Please help me 😭 All of my plant are in plastic container that allow drainage, I try to remember to water every 2/3 weeks and I usually just use tap or bottled water ⁉️⁉️⁉️⁉️MORE QUESTIONS I HAVE⁉️⁉️⁉️⁉️ - should I use growing light ? And for how long? -Should I be using rain water over tap water ? And do I literally just collect rain water and save it when my plants need to be watered? - Should I get a humidifier? And how big should it be ? -What kind of mist should I use and how often? -I recently learned i should have waiting till Spring to repot everything.. did I F*** my plants up?? ✨🪴✨🪴Any advice and suggestions are welcomed and greatly appreciated!! ✨🪴✨🪴

Most of the plants look like they're doing pretty well. The golden pothos that you repotted could probably benefit from some root stimulator. Also, give it a little bit to adjust to the new pot but when the growing season starts I would cut all of stems back to about 4 in and let it flush out with fresh foliage. I cut a golden pothos back completely like that and it came back beautifully. Make sure you continue to fertilize it in the spring as it's growing back. You might want to water a little more often than 2 to 3 weeks and give it enough water to run out the bottom of the pot. Let it drain well and put it back in its place. Then don't water it again until it's appropriately dry. Except for the sanseveria, you should probably water them when the top inch or two of soil is dry. Some plants are more sensitive to tap water than others. I think all of yours are okay with tap but if you have rain water available use it. About rainwater, if you're going to plan on using it a lot you might want to get a rain barrel but research a bit before you get it. It takes a little doing to build a support for it because it gets so heavy.

Thank you!! Also, can I take the Potho cutting and place it back into the soil? Or should I just propagate them for awhile and put them in their own pot?

Personally, I just use tap water, mine's hard water and all my plants do great. I've never had an issue with reporting during the winter, but I also live in a very warm area. Humidifiers are wonderful, but not necessary if you don't want to get one or can't afford it. Same thing with grow lights. Your plants all look great. Only thing I recommend that you didn't mention is fertilizer. It's important to get the nutrients to the plant.

I got stick fertilizer? Is that enough?

I've never personally used stick fertilizer, but it should be :)

hey! so i see you have two different monsteras here, and both names you used can refer to the same plant, even though you have two different ones! a 'swiss cheese' monstera typically refers to the bigger one you have. these are more commonly known as monsteras, or monstera deliciocas! the second one you have, the smaller, more 'holey' one, is a monstera adasonii! because deliciosas can be referred to as just monsteras, i think most people include both the genus and species name for monstera adansonii to avoid confusion. (also, you might want to get a pole or trellis for it to climb up and to provide support. other than that, it your plants look like theyre doing pretty well!) sorry if you already knew this, but wanted to leave it here in case you didnt :)

Thank you! I was wondering when the best time to do that is and if I should do it now

im assuming youre talking about the moss pole/trellis - you can add it when you repot the plant (poles, wood planks) or just stick it in the soil if you have a trellis with prongs

Pothos are not terribly hard to propagate. As mentioned you can do it in water and you can also put it in the soil, even in the same pot. Just don't bury it too deep. Also, I think both of your monsters fall into the category of Swiss cheese plant. Personally one with the round holes looks more like swiss cheese to me but both have that as a common name. Very confusing if you ask me. And on top of that a split leaf philodendron looks very similar to the larger monstera. Nomenclature can be a real challenge.

I’m a newbie plant mom and have been repotting all winter (as I’m learning about correct sized pots, soil, etc) and I haven’t noticed a problem. The fact that my plants are all still growing after the amount of times I’ve repotted, moved, and touched them is surprising!

I generally wait until spring to repot but also I don't hesitate to do it in the winter if a plant needs it. The reason some people say wait till spring is then they are growing faster and will recover faster than during the winter.

Also if you're watering with tap water and they're doing fine thats great, you don't need to use anything else. But some plants can be more sensitive than others, so research when you buy🪴

I'm not a huge fan of stick fertilizers. I feel like the fertilizer does not disperse evenly throughout the pot, but that's just my opinion.

Is there any fertilizer you’d recommend ?
