What happened to my corsican stonecrop? 😢 It was so beautiful and had a bluish hue, but it grew sooo much and now the plant is pale in color, leggy and the bottom of the plant is all yellow. Is it maybe in a pot that is too deep? I water it about ever 3-4 weeks and gets indirect sunlight but some morning sun. Maybe I could propagate it to save it? Any help would be appreciated 💕

To best of my knowledge, most sedums need direct sun, without it they lose color. And they do have a shallow root system.

That makes sense! Maybe I’ll try to save it my propagating! Thanks 🪴

I think it looks mostly good except for that one area of yellow. I do not think the pot is too deep although it's hard to tell from the picture whether that's a bowl shape or a deeper pot. Was the side that is yellow turned away from the window? It could also be that it doesn't get as much light because it's winter and as the world turns the light will get brighter and it will do better.

Yes it’s a deeper pot, so about 4 inches deep 🙂 the yellow is all the leaves that are on top of the soil, so all the leaves near the soil are all yellow and dry 😟 maybe it’s the light! I’ll wait and see if it’ll get better in the summer 🙂 thank you!

I just added photos to my post so you can see the yellowing leaves better 🙂

I see now the pot is quite deep but I'm not sure that's a factor. The plant seems to have been growing quite nicely. I think it's just the low Winter light may be cool temperatures and in some ways the natural progression of the plant. A lot of plants need some cut back to force fresh Central growth. If you choose to propagate, I would do it by plant division rather than stem cuttings. While you do that you could also plant them into shallower pots just in case that is an issue. I'm sure you've seen a lot of shallow pots, the azalea pots are shallower, bonsai pots can be a nice shape for succulents but whatever you choose watch out, some of the more decorative pots don't have drain holes.
