Jade plant I Need help. Im a beginner at this and I had gotten this plant as a gift, but since then my plant’s leaves has been dropping . Dont know what to do. I heard that its better to leave it in the dark & water it rarely . Is it accurate?

I wouldn’t keep it in the dark, put in next to a window giving it indirect light. I’d also take all the dead leaves out of the pot to prevent mold. Im not sure if your pot has drainage holes but if not repot with a chunky soil mix to a pot with tons of drainage (trust me it helps) If you want a different method try cleaning all the dirt off the root and putting the roots in water so you can easily see the growth.

Okay thank you, now that you are telling me, the pot has no drainage and maybe thats one of the reasons. If leaving by the window it will help?

My jade plant thrives with sunshine on nice days I put her outside away from direct sunlight

Yes definitely, a pot without draining could harm the plant but if you still like the pot you can replant your jade into a nursery pot then place it in your previous pot. The window will also help a lot.

How often are you watering it? It seems like it might have gotten a little too much water especially since the pot has no drainage. I don’t want to say that this plant isn’t going to make it but it doesn’t seem like it might. Succulents like to be ignored so only water when it’s completely dry around 1-2 weeks. Try placing near the window to get some light to help dry it up a bit. What you could do is try to propagate the leaves that have fallen. I leave them on a napkin for a couple of days until I see part where it fell off dries over and then place in water and hope for roots to sprout.

Looks like stress and maybe too much water? I’m not sure from this alone

Needs dry sandy rocky soil and terracotta and more sun. Water only 1x a month when it’s fully dried out
