Some roots look dead and shrivelled, I’d leave it for now and put it back in its pot and just keep an eye on it

Thank you đŸ„č I take it dead roots are better than root rot? I’m super new to the whole plant parent thing so I’m lowkey clueless 😅😭

Dead is dead. No recovery from both dead and rotting roots. Pull the soil away to look for any healthy roots or stems. I would be surprised to see anything. â˜č Time to buy a new plant guilt free!đŸȘŽ

Could I repot him or anything? Like is there any saving this little guy? I really want to keep him alive 😞

Like Sunny said, gently work all the soil away and inspect all of his roots. If you can find some that are still healthy (firm, not squishy) then he might have a chance. Snip away the dead, squishy roots carefully with sterilized shears, make sure he’s no longer soggy, then repot him with fresh soil. Be sure to keep him in the same spot where he was thriving before, to minimize the trauma/shock from surgery and transplanting. Good luck! I know how it feels to have a little guy take a dive like this, and trying to save them can be stressful and saddening. But if you’re willing to try, you might be able to save him. It all comes down to what kind of healthy roots he has left 💚

All good lol dw, the only reason I said just to leave it, is because you might end up stressing it even more than it is right now
