I made a stupid mistake please don’t judge me.. I was turning the lamp off and I knocked my lamp over and it fell on top of my monstera and broke/bent so many leaves. Please tell me what to do to help it recover pics attached.. I’m so heart broken (it fell right in the middle and damaged so much)

    One of the leafs that have a line in a cup of water and it will grow roots 🙃

    And if that doesn’t work, like if it doesn’t grow roots, you can keep it inside that cup of water and it will keep growing

    Then, if there’s a lot of water change it daily There’s actually oxygen in the water that plants need.

    Awhh my heart breaks for you :( I’d make the lamp apologize first lol! She will be okay. If possible, some of the stems that are maybe a little bent/broken still attached to the plant, you can maybe try taking a straw and cutting it down the middle (length wise), so you can open it up. Wrap it around the stem of the leaf to help keep it straight, like a cast - if it will fit. Try boba tea straws as well, they’re thicker. Over time, it may heal itself! Make sure it’s not cutting into the plant, and remember not to chop off more than 50% of the foliage at one time. Hope this helps! sorry this happened to you ❤️

    Two of the leaves have leaf nodes as shown. Root nodes are close to these leaf nodes. Put the two leaf stems in water and in bright light to grow out roots. Change the water when cloudy or about once a week. You can add rooting hormone liquid to the water. Fertilize when new roots appear. Plant when the roots are at least 2 inches. The mother plant will put out new leaves to replace the lost leaves. It takes time. 🪴🍀

      So I saved what I could of the broken leaves and placed it in water with root stimulating liquid… some of them were broken in so many places that it couldn’t be saved. no roots yet but I’m patiently waiting!! I also saved a few of the stems that had nodes but the leaf broke off… hopefully that is able to root as well. Also, I just adjusted the stake on the original plant and hoping it recovers well I’m not home but I took a pic this morning, the monstera cuttings are in the glass jar (next to the bird of paradise) I’ll take a better picture when I get home and upload a pic of the original monstera as well.

    By the way roots don’t like light. Sophie moved the plant away from the window. It’ll help a lot.
