So I got this peace lily next to a dumpster and had to do a complete chop of everything. It’s obviously doing very well as it has a bloom coming in but some of my leaves are brown and mushy in certain spots. What does this mean? I look on the internet and the only thing that comes up is yellowing leaves but these don’t have any of that. And no the radiator it’s next to is not on yet, it will most likely get moved from there in the winter

That’s what’s frustrating though is I don’t over do it and it isn’t showing that yellowing that all the other overwatering signs say

Maybe too much sun? Should be indirect lighting. Or not enough humidity?

Brown and mushy usually means overwatering. You should only be watering a peace lily when it starts to wilt a little bit. They are very dramatic and will tell you when they’re thirsty haha. If it was sunburn or underwatering the leaves would be yellow, dry and crispy, not mushy brown. Check for pests and root rot. It’s likely one of those two things caused the plant to start dying and get thrown out in the first place :)

I just fully repotted and treated it for root rot so hopefully that will help, thank you!
