Also wanted to post about my Venus flytrap. I know they’re difficult to take care of, but I’ve been doing my best to water it consistently and keep it out of sunlight. It’s struggling to keep going, what should I do?

I know absolutely nothing about these plants but I swear I just recently read they should only be watered with distilled water???
1 LikeI use the great value bottled water I guess maybe I should try that😭

1 LikeI just looked it up and it says it needs distilled, RO or rainwater. All these different plants are so picky!!! I think my spider plant wants distilled and I haven’t tried it yet.
1 LikeMan I wish you the best of luck lol it’s so hard trying to understand the different needs of these plants
1 LikeWhat kind of soil you are using? It needs full sun, you can put it in a container with a lid to increase humidity.
1 LikeOh okay I like that idea! I just have the peat moss and whatever was in it when I bought it - maybe time for a resoil. Also I thought Venus plants didn’t like sun but I’ll see how this one responds to it! Thanks!

1 Like"I'm really into Venus flytraps! I bought a tiny one from Walmart three years ago, and now I’ve propagated it into four more pots from the same mother plant. It’s always been on a windowsill with over 8 hours of direct sunlight. I use Sunrise Carnivorous Plant Soil and keep it in a container with holes in the lid for ventilation. The container sweats, so I know it stays humid. I only water it when I no longer see condensation—overwatering can cause black traps, which is a sign of too much moisture. These plants love the sun, so give them plenty of light!"
1 LikeAwesome thank you!
0 LikesI have mine permanently in a bowl of rainwater which is changed every week. It’s in the sunniest spot in the house (although this is the UK in winter 😂) It has three flowers that have shot up in the last week or so.
1 LikeWow yours is stunning, I’ll try this!
