My yellow leaf dogwood tree is turning brown and spotty. It’s in full sun, in a large pot with drainage. I have two others in pods that are doing well. I can’t find any information as to what might be wrong with it. I haven’t fed it.

  1. Plant lover!!!

If it’s in full sun it most definitely could be burning or just underwatering

Dogwoods need shade! Where are you located (for example, “in the south”) Do you know what type it is?

I’m in the gulf Islands, BC. I have two others in full sun doing great.

But perhaps I’ll try moving it to a less sunny spot and see how it does

Ok, this helps! Most varieties do better in the shade but this type should be OK! I did some research and are wondering, are you maintaining a consistent “moist” soil (especially on the hottest days)? If yes, could you be overwatering? Just thinking out loud here.
