Plants that have been indoors for a while often need to be "hardened off": you start by putting them outside for an hour or two, and slowly increase the amount of time they're outside in a day over the course of a week or two. Then they're ready to be outside full-time. It helps seedlings that were sprouted indoors too!

Your philodendron is likely experiencing sunburn or environmental shock due to the sudden move outdoors. Philodendrons are forest-dwelling plants that prefer shade and indirect sunlight. -If it is sunburn, immediately move the plant to a location that receives bright, indirect light or partial shade and avoid harsh, direct sun exposure.  -If it's environmental shock, allow the plant time to adjust to its new environment. Make changes gradually if possible. Ensure the location has appropriate humidity and temperature.
