I just had to move one of my plants to the graveyard for the first time. I epically lost the battle with mealy bugs. I tried for two months to get rid of them. I finally let the plant go so it wouldn’t accidentally infect the rest of my plants. By the end, it definitely didn’t look like this. Pretty sure trying to save it, killed it. Anyone have success getting rid of mealy bugs?

I quarantine for about 3 weeks and spray with insecticidal soap every three days. This seems to eradicate them.

I had them outside on a hibiscus my partner has. We used some spray off amazon that’s designed to treat insects and fungus. It’s a mix of water, alcohol, soap, and some various natural oils like clove and peppermint. We sprayed 3x, once every day, and then rinsed the plant within a few minutes to avoid the sun burnjng it. With more sensitive plants like philodendrons it’s best to squish the eggs, spray the adults, and use neem+peppermint oil to deter them from returning to the plant. I’m not sure if this helps or not but I also happen to occasionally water most of my outdoor plants with some spinosad to prevent leaf boring bugs.
