I’m having trouble with my African Violet. She was so hearty and I’ve had her for years. I had to repot recently due to to green allege or fungus…but it’s back!? I’m also currently treating a fungus knot outbreak from a plant my son brought home. Maybe they are related?
I wouldn’t worry about algae in the pot. Do you keep the clear pot in a cache pot? That should keep sunlight out and then algae won’t form. For the fungus gnats - I always recommend beneficial nematodes. It’s the best solution long-term. Short term you can let the affected plant dry out and put out a yellow sticky trap to catch the adult gnats.

1 Like I think to save her some stress, just put her in a cache pot. ☺️ I love clear pots for monitoring roots and water level!
