HELP!! I've had this sago palm for over a year and it always looked this bad. I don't know what I'm doing wrong. I've tried it in every spot in the house and I water it when Planta says to when it's dry. It's always getting yellow dry leaves. Any suggestions?

What’s the drainage on the pot

I would gently unpot and check the roots - yellow leaves can indicate overwatering. The planta schedule isn’t fully accurate, it’s a good reminder to check on your plants but always check the moisture level before watering. If the top 2” are moist don’t water and check again a couple days later.

I just did that and I only water when it's dry which is why I'm dumbfounded.

How did the roots look? When watering does the water run through very quickly?

Roots looked ok and yes the water runs through reasonably quickly.

I'm not sure if you do, but a tip that always keeps mine healthy is cutting the "adults" off when you notice the baby's sprout (make sure they are like 2 inches) also check for root rot.

I’ve only grown them outdoors and they barely get watered and are doing well. They get full sun. Maybe increase the amount of light the plant gets.

Looks like under fertilized and low amount of light, try increasing lighting, is it getting the right amount of feed of the Krp reading, also not tap water

Could be light. It was under a grow light. Fertilized with half strength whenever watered. Always use filtered water on all my plants. Water here isn't great.

These are outdoor plants that LOVE sun! This plant looks like it’s not getting enough sun and perhaps not enough water either. I keep these outdoors here in South Carolina.

I'm in Massachusetts with a foot of snow on the ground. lol. I've got a grow light on it now. If it makes it I'll move it outside this summer. 👍🏼

Is it near a window as well? Make sure no drafts… they like warmth and humidity. It won’t survive a Massachusetts winter so it’s going to have to be a snow bird once temperatures drop.
