This is big boi. Since big boi was reported - about five months ago now, his growth has been rather slow and several leaves have yellowed (which I have since chopped). What I’ve noticed is that the soil dries out within a couple days. My question is, is it possible I aerated the soil _too_ much? Should my heuristic be “just water whenever the soil is actually dry, don’t overthink it”? Yes, I know it’s really in that westward facing window. I use a moisture meter and within 2-3 days after watering, it’s dry dry. Thanks for your thoughts.

How are you watering? Try bottom watering if you aren’t, it sounds like your soil is hydrophobic. Let it soak up the water

Bottom watering this beast feels like a task but I’ll look into it. It’s so heavy.

It looks like it has a drainage tray attached to pot, water it and keep refilling the drainage tray until your plant stops taking up more water then you won’t have to move it

It’s more or less flush with the lip of the drainage tray but I’ll see if I can move the little rubber feet inside. Love the suggestions! Thank you!

I believe there are too many individual plants in the pot competing for water if it dries completely in 2 days. I assume they were competing for space which is why you repotted it. The vines are thin compared to the length of each vine. I recommend separating the plants to only put one or two plants in a pot that size.

I think this is a var. borsigiana which is why the vines look thinner, but it’s a good point!

That’s interesting! I just looked up information on the variety Borsigiana. Now, I can see the difference. I still recommend separating them. Good luck!🍀🪴
