The tips of my alocasia are yellowing. Is this due to too much light exposure? My silver dragon leaves are also starting to curl upwards, they were flat when I got it. Is that an issue? Most of the things I’ve read talk about the plants drooping or curling downwards. Any tips?

Mine has done the same thing, and it just spread throughout the leaf. I’m not sure if it has to do with humidity or poor draining soil, or maybe both! What’s your humidity situation? Do you have a humidifier?

The air is quite dry I guess. I try to stay on top of misting. The soil drains well though I did water it recently. I kind of keep them like on the edge of the lights so it doesn’t get direct light. I’m still new so could be doing everything wrong lol. Just doing what the app tells me for now, in terms of watering and misting.

You’re doing great, really, and alocasia are hard! If it is dry I highly suggest investing in a humidifier and going from there. Misting unfortunately does not cut it for high humidity plants like this, especially during winter (due to heating) or if you live in a more arid environment. The curling upward could be a result of dryness but I’m not positive.

Sweet. I’ll go pick one up today and see if that helps any. Thanks for the advice!

Went out and got a humidifier where you can set the %. I guess my apartment is already somewhere between 45-50%. The app says no more than 60%. What’s your recommendation on where to keep it?

That’s perfect I love humidifiers that gauge the %! I’d keep it in the same room as the plant but not so close that water accumulates on the leaves itself!
