My alocasia frydek just grew a new leaf and at the same time it started to have a discoloration to another. Can anyone help out? what shall I do? It’s been under a grow light about 6-8hrs a day for the past 3 days, indoor indirect sunlight. No pests on it/around it. Big leaf had the little discoloration since I bought it over a month ago with no new or increase in the discoloration. Soil was not too wet nor too dry either. Is it best to cut the yellow leaf or let it stay and water/mist it more?

Cut the yellowing one, its just suckinf resources. Its not uncommon for alocasia to drop a leave while or when a new one emerges

Cut it off close to bottom, this is standard for Alocasia plants, they put out a new leaf and the oldest leaf dies

I’d personally chop the yellowing one off, and make sure it’s not sitting in water. I’m not sure if it’s the lights in your picture or not.. good luck

Alocasias are really heavy feeders (need a lot of fertilizer) to support multiple leaves. My frydek specifically kept doing this (dropping a leaf as soon as a new one emerges) until I started fertilizing with almost every watering ( can use a lighter amount to start)
