Oh boy, this looks scary so I’m afraid to disturb it before I know what it could be. It’s bright chalk-yellow mold. Lots of dots and a white floof beginning on top of it.

    Yep looks like mold! You can sprinkle cinnamon on top of it or a hydrogen peroxide flush (you’ll need to look up ratios). Usually this means the soil’s staying a bit too wet or not getting enough airflow.

    Scoop out what you can and 1:3 peroxide dilution.

    To get rid of mold I pour hydrogen peroxide in the soil it don’t hurt the plant I just use the 3% from the store and haven’t had any problems

    I believe that is slime mold. Not harmful but ugly and scary. Scoop it out and dry down the soil.
