How do I revive my Aloe plant? Am I overwatering it?
If she's soggy or droopy it's most likely over-watering they also love full sun and need good drainage, I give my succulents deluded Epsom salt during the growing season but I would wait on all that until she dries out some if she's droopy and soggy from overwatering
1 me gustaCan you say more on the epsom salt? How do you know how much salty they need?
1 me gustaWell it also depends on the soil condition if you have good soil that doesn't have a magnesium deficiency of any kind we don't want to over fertilize your aloe , I know they're not heavy feeders and they do ok in poor soil conditions I would super dilute it like maybe a teaspoon of Epsom salt to a gallon of water once a month during the growing season
0 Me gustaYou might want to check the roots for any signs of distress or rot. I would remove the dry leaves or cut them down a bit after checking the roots. If you can give a little info about how you care for this plant, that could help others narrow down what could be causing problems for your aloe. Here’s some things that could help knowing: - how long do you wait before you water it, and do you let it completely dry out between waterings? - what kind of soil is it in? Do you remember the brand, or if it was cactus/succulent mix or not? - when was the last time it was repotted? Does the pot have drainage holes at the bottom? Hope this helps
1 me gustaThanks for the suggestions! Recently we bought a plant mister and we got carried away with it. It’s worked well for some of the other plants but not the aloe. So like once or twice a week. There is root rot. Should I remove those pieces too? I’m not sure what soil was used but it hasn’t been transferred pots in a while.
0 Me gustaIf it helps, about once a year I take it out the pot and separate the babies. I put the best or mama plant back in the original pot with some fresh soil. I either start the babies in their own pots or toss them if I have too many growing or they don’t look as healthy as I want. It looks tired to me like it needs to be separated from the suckers and given fresh soil.
