Heyyo👋🏻 I have this beautiful plant a neighbor gave to me. I’ve just kept it in a glass filled with water because I don’t have the urge to pot it. I was lazy for a few weeks…..and didn’t change the water but now the roots are completely covered in algae. What’s the best way to fix this? 😢

Just gently wash it off. I drain the old water, add clean water and shake it like a Polaroid to agitate the roots. 😁 Rinse and repeat. You can spray it with water after removing from the container. Then, clean the container. I just use fresh water and an old toothbrush or old bottle brush. Mine always need cleaning.🪴🍀

I've heard adding hydrogen peroxide can help prevent alage. I've never tried myself though

Hydrogen peroxide works wonders when disenfecting root, or doing water props. Spray your cuttings when you change the water to prevent molding and algae!

I spray with dilated hydrogen peroxide. Helps with mold growth also. It’s a great option
