Hi everyone! This is Betsy and she's my first corn plant. She’s very wabbly at the bottom and wondered if I should moved her to a bigger pot or smaller? My mom said since its top heavy it needs a bigger pot. Any advice is helpful!

If it’s doing well I personally wouldn’t repot it. I would just give it some support with plant stakes.,

0 J'aimeMy pleasure
0 J'aimeI definitely agree with Yolanda. I have two of them and they do like being snug in their pots and going fairly dry in between waterings.
1 j'aimeI would take that sphagnum moss off the top as well, so it doesn't stay damp too long.
2 J'aimeThe moss is actually a planting soil from a local garden shop. I have purchased a different soil aftet doing some research 🙄🙄😬
0 J'aimeYes, definitely, a nice chunky well draining soil.
0 J'aimeRoot type has definitely been a lesson on my plant journey. I have an African milk tree ( shallow roots) and planted it in a large planter but I try to make sure soil/ drainage can assist with watering so they don’t go thirsty. Same with my snake plants. Size up and let them be :)
1 j'aimeIf you’re concerned about it being top heavy, you can find a heavier planter to put that pot into. I wouldn’t recommend actually repotting until the roots need it, otherwise too big of a pot can cause root rot from the excess moisture.
