I will say I’m new to money trees myself. I’m currently on my 3rd one. What I have learned is. I water till it comes out the bottom then stop. Let it completely dry out before watering again. When top soil is dry water. I also don’t have it in a window where it gets sun. It’s in a north facing (I want to say) window and it gets bright light almost all day. I’m not exactly sure how to save it. With mine I discovered there was rubber bands cutting into the base of the trunk where the roots were. That was my problem. I also discovered I was watering way too much that was why my trunks were rotting one by one. I also mixed orchid bark and extra pertile in the soil to give extra drainage. One lady on here told me that money trees take 6 months to adjust to new home. I believe that because of what happened with my others.
