My philodendron is growing beautifully but I noticed this week that the lower new growth is pink in color while the new growth on top is green. Is this pink color normal?

It could be that those spots are getting more sunlight, so they don’t need as much chlorophyll in those leaves to be productive. At least, that’s how variegation and some other leaf coloration works
2 J'aimeOh okay that’s good! Yeah she seems to be growing a lot, I just wanted to be sure lol
0 J'aimeDoes that spot get more direct sunlight?
1 j'aimeI would say so yeah. She’s in front of a south facing slider door. The patio has a cover but her bottom half gets direct afternoon sun.
1 j'aimeShe’s pretty btw
1 j'aimeThank you!! 😊
0 J'aimeWhich philo is this? I want one! 😍
1 j'aimeI think it’s a heartleaf 💚
0 J'aimeI think it’s completely normal! I just gave my neon philodendron a huge trim and lots of the parts I trimmed off were some shade of pink! I do have mine in a super sunny spot so I think the theory with them not needing as much chlorophyll could be correct. I’m guessing your pink ones are new growth too? In my experience the pinkish leaves eventually turn green the older the leaves get!
1 j'aimeYeah they are new growth. Sounds like we’re in the same boat! Thank you! And I like your setup, it’s cute! 🥰
