Any ideas why my donkey tail is cracking?
Any ideas why my donkey tail is cracking?
I suggest check watering frequency. This cracking might be caused from dryness of soil from under watering or the splitting of stems from overwatering. Monkey tails usually don't need a lot of water regularly.
3 LikesI agree about potential water imbalance, the soil looks dry and it is in a terra-cotta pot, however, if you let it dry too long and then completely drown it l, the leaves mat be reacting. It does looks like the leaves bursted from some type of watering issue. I have a burro’s tail as well, and leaves and plant itself is generally pretty sensitive.

0 LikesI was planning on repotting him because I have better soil now
0 LikesYou can definitely repot if you have succulent type of soil that’s well draining. I have mine in a succulent soil and probably water it every 7 to 10 days but it gets good afternoon sun. I think it’s a good size to repot, when it gets bigger, it’ll be a nightmare to repot. I just repotted my large burro tail and died every time a leaf fell off. 😁
